Yes... My question to you... Are we there yet??? There, at the intellectual zenith... There, where we hold the Holy Grail of knowledge. The plain and simple answer is NO. But the question is not limited to what I asked before. The most important question lies, 'If not, then why???'
Let me try to explain what I think. Have you ever heard that 'construct your future by learning from the past' (something like that...but I guess you get my point). That means, if we want to move ahead in the field of science, we need to have a look in our history. HISTORY!!! (yawn...).. Yes, that's the reaction most of us give when we even hear this term. But I am not talking about wars and dynasties and their dates...or how many were killed in action. What I am talking about is the ancient science, the knowledge of which has been lost over the turbulent centuries of war and chaos, as well as most of this was not preserved due to lack of proper documentation and safekeeping.
Let me elaborate. Ever wondered how The great pyramids were built?? Or how the Mayan calender was so accurate?? Or how the city of Mohan-jo-daro was so planned with proper drainage system?? Or how the cave temples of Ajanta and Ellora were so beautifully carved that even modern day architects are puzzled?? These are just few drops in the ocean. There are lots more. May be they knew something we don't or may be they looked for the simplest answers to even complex questions. As time advanced we became civilized. Our history was based on whatever was dug up from 'ground' and to some extent what our scriptures say. But guess what, we are overlooking many facts. Facts like the land area is shrinking with time due to oceans taking over coastal parts and it implies that long ago, there was much more land area exposed than there is now (a known scientific fact).
Ok...for instance, let me recollect some facts regarding what we usually know about origin and development of civilizations. Earliest civilizations...Egyptians, Sumerians, Mohan-jo-daro (nearly 3000-3500 B. C.). Then came Aryans (I am talking in Indian context)... Some 1200 B. C. Then there were some other civilizations like Mayas, Incas, Aztecs thriving in the unknown part of the world (now known as U S of A)....and then there was Industrial revolution,,,advancement in scientific and other domains of life...etc.etc.etc.... (get hold of some secondary school level history books and you will get the point)... Now,, the basis of all tis blabbering.... While scanning sea bed for pollution near Dwarika, Gujrat, India, twin cities were found sunk inside Arabian sea !!! Full fledged excavation could not yet be undertaken because of lack of funds. But a minor excavation has been done and some artifacts were excavated. Among those artifacts, there was a piece of wood, probably part some vessel, was carbon dated back to approx 32000 B. C. !!! Now our current understanding says the civilization started around 3000-4000 B. C... But above evidence depicts that there was a full fledged city 32000 B. C. !!! If you look at the time line of geological changes over time, you will find that that portion of sea bed was above water during that period.
What do you think about above example??? I believe that just like Dwarika, there must be ancient cities all around the world which are now submerged. Such gaps in the time line of civilizations evolution have led to the loss of knowledge. Also if the hypothesis regarding much more older civilizations is true, then we will have to look into the human evolution too once again...
So main stream science...just have a look at above facts... We really need a rediscovery of our ancient culture and science...
Keep pondering... Till then...
